Plot:  Unemployed Vijay is the youngest in his family consisting of his widowed mom, and two brothers. His passion is poetry - frowned upon by his brothers - who want him to find gainful employment instead. Vijay's poems are quite radical in which he laments about the poor, the destitute, and the arrogance of the rich after the departure of the British from India. His efforts to get them published are in vain. He takes to drinking, gets in trouble with the law, is disowned by his brothers, ends up at a brothel and befriends a prostitute named Gulabo. Gulabo is sympathetic, listens to him as he pours his heart out, and decides to assist Vijay. Watch what happens when Gulabo approaches some of her affluent clientèle to assist Vijay and try and get his work published, without revealing that they are written by an alcoholic, disheveled, homeless man.

Plot:  A popular director recruits a new actress to work for his Movie. The popularity of the movie spills over to the already strained relationship between the Director and his in-law leading to ban in his access to his own daughter. Due to the emotional turmoils, the director falls from the height, while the actress who is now the queen of industry tries to bring him back into world.
Rotten Tomatoes:   Film director Suresh Sinha (played by director Guru Dutt) discovers a star in the making (Waheeda Rehman) when she returns a borrowed coat to his studio. The actor's subsequent relationship with the director ultimately destroys his career and personal life. This semi-autobiographical drama was the last film Dutt directed and India's first Cinemascope release. A flop in its day, it's now considered to be a masterpiece by Dutt's many admirers.

Plot:  Nisha lives a poor lifestyle in the Portuguese-ruled Malabar region in India along with her widowed dad, Narayan Das. Both father and daughter are opposed to the oppressive rule of the Portuguese General Barborosa, and even shelter a freedom fighter, Ramzan Ali Saudagar. When the Police get wind of this, they arrest both Ramzan and Narayan and torture them. Nisha approaches Raj Mata albeit in vain. Thereafter Nisha and her friend are arrested and jailed after a failed attempt to kill Barborosa. After spending sometime in prison, the two women, along with several other prisoners are hired out to work on a merchant ship. They end up overpowering the ship and it's men and take over it. They use this ship to tackle another Portuguese vessel, sinking it, and taking three captives, an astrologer, a young man, and a woman named Rosita. The young man, who had rescued Nisha from molesters earlier, falls in love with Nisha and together they decide to oppose the Portuguese regime and overthrow them. What Nisha and her associates do not know is that the young man is really Raj Kumar Ravi - who was being sent to Portugal to learn various war-like arts so that he and the Portuguese can continue to rule over Malabar. Watch what happens when Ravi escapes and returns to his castle.

Plot:  An ex-convict gets a job as a taxi driver to change his girlfriend's prejudiced father's view of him, and becomes embroiled with a criminal gang in the process.
Rotten Tomatoes:   Kalu (Guru Dutt), a tenderhearted leadfoot who used to drive a taxi, gets sent to the slammer for speeding. But when he's released early for good behavior, his family and former boss shut him out. With no place to live and no way to make a living, Kalu takes a job at a garage, where he quickly falls in love with the proprietor's daughter, Nikki (Shyama). Her father's disapproval, however, threatens to put the brakes on their budding romance.
