Black Star Liner | ||
Allmusic Biography : Led by singer/songwriter Chogue Hosein, Black Star Liner is one of the top Anglo-Asian bands in England. Since the release of their debut single, "Smoke the Prophets," which was voted NME Single of the Week in 1994, the Leeds-based ensemble has continued to forge a dance-inspiring fusion of ethnic instrumentation, electronic keyboards, and lush soundscapes. Initially attracting attention with an EP remix of the Rootsmans tune "Soundclash City Rockers," Black Star Liner recorded several singles for Feargal Sharkeys EXP label before signing with WEA in 1997. After releasing an EP, Rock Freak, for the label, they recorded a full-length album, Bengali Bantam Youth Experience. | ||
